502 proxy Error とは何でしょうか？

自分がよく出入りしている某サイトで、いつものように入ってみたところ、下記のような表示が出て、入ることが出来ませんでした。 Proxy Error The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. The proxy server could not handle the request GET /ja/index.html. Reason: Error reading from remote server この意味がよくわかりません。どういう意味なのかわかる方是非教えてください。
